I love paint. I just do. It’s messy and goopy and hard to control. Even the most skilled painter accounts for a certain mysterious quality paint brings to his or her work. Its texture is versatile from light and smooth to thick and rough. The same medium can create beautifully blended colors with precise brushstrokes or bold and abstract shapes. We use brushes, palette knives, rollers, sprays, our hands, sponges… all to apply this one substance—paint. Everyone from Leonardo da Vinci to Claude Monet to Jackson Pollack used paint to translate their visions to the world. I’m smitten with the vibrant colors and flexibility it allows me.

This fun video showcases how wonderful paint is… just on its own! No need to compose a picture or mix colors or use fancy brushes. These guys just pour it out and see what happens! And if you ask me, it’s beautiful.
