Put Your Finger on It

Okay, okay, it’s finally time! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! What’s the first order of business? Greeting cards! I feel like cards are one of those things that we all plan on doing, want to get a head start on, and inevitably scramble together last minute or send out late. Well, not anymore!

Here’s a simple, yet adorable twist on a holiday card that’s still sweet and personal. And while there’s no awkward or posed photos involved, the kids still get to shine. All you need is paper, a black marker, some colorful inkpads (or paints, but that’s a bit messier) and your little one’s thumbs!

Take a piece of paper. You can fold it in half or glue it on some thicker colored paper. Draw a string for the lights with your black marker. Next, let your kiddos press their fingers with ink and press down along the string to create colorful lights. Lastly, just draw a black squiggly line to make a base connecting each light to the string. Et voila! Quick, easy, cute, colorful—a treat to make and receive!

This fun little project makes a great card or you could frame it to display as a Christmas decoration. It makes a perfect holiday keepsake. Seasons greetings, everyone!
