Still Autumn

Oh, hello November 1st! How was your Halloween? What did you end up wearing and doing!?

So now that we are into November, many of my friends like to say it’s officially holiday season and therefore Christmas songs are completely appropriate. While I love the holidays and all the magic that comes with December, I can’t help but feel that we really rush into it, leaving November very underappreciated. November is great! We’ve still got some great fall weather left (hurricanes aside) and my personal favorite holiday, Thanksgiving.

While there will be plenty of time for snowmen and candy canes, let’s enjoy the beautiful autumnal colors and vegetation while we still can! One blogger who is definitely highlighting the beauty of the season is Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere with her Festive Fall Table. This quirky, earthy tablescape showcases the unique magnificence of autumn.

Emily, along with florist extraordinaire, Gayle Nicoletti, shares tips to create your own version of this beautiful centerpiece at home. Oftentimes we think tables should boast pretty, symmetrical blooms. But in a season filled with eclectic gourds, misshapen pumpkins, colorful corn, and great leaves and nuts in between, you really have the opportunity to stretch your creativity and be unique. Play with size, height, shape, light, and texture and see what you come up with!

What do you think about November? Are you ready for the Christmas carols? Do you think the winter holiday season starts the moment Halloween ends or do you like to savor the last of autumn?

Enjoy this month and your fabulous fall table!
